Germantown Church of God
16924 Raven Rock Road • Cascade, Maryland 21719-1945
This Sunday - October 22
This Sunday Pastor Mark will continue to review and unpack our Church mission statement. The Germantown Church of God exists to move people who are broken spiritually, physically, emotionally, or relationally toward Jesus where they can find healing and be transformed into His image.”  This week we will be talking about being Transformed into His Likeness.

The Scriptures to the right will help you prepare for Worship this Sunday.
Germantown Church of God
Welcome to the Germantown Church of God on the beautiful mountain top in Cascade, Maryland overlooking Frederick and Washington County and near Franklin County Pennsylvania.
Germantown Church of God is a serving Church. Just as Jesus came to serve others, we take seriously our call to serve our world. We have served the mountain top community of Cascade, Maryland for over 145 years. Members of our Church family serve their community through the Hagerstown Rescue Mission, Cascade Elementary School, our local Food Bank, the local Help Hotline, and more. We serve our world by supporting ministries to those of other cultures with our prayers, our gifts, our time and our energy.
Church of God is a loving Church family. In one of Jesus' best known stories, he told of a wayward son who came home to a welcoming, loving, accepting, and forgiving Father. We believe that it is important to provide a safe place for fellowship, where people will find encouragement and support. A place where people will feel loved and accepted, no matter where they have been or what they have done.
Germantown Church of God is a Church on a journey. Our people are on a spiritual journey back to God. Some have been on that journey for many years. Some are just starting out. We want to help people grow stronger on that journey back to God, no matter where they are. We provide opportunities for fellowship, study of scriptures, worship, prayer, and service to nurture members of our Church family on their journey. We welcome others to join us.

Special Musical Sunday

Operation Christmas Child

Once again this year we will be preparing Shoe Boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Kick off Sunday will be October 22
and collection Sunday is November 12. We have received a notice from Samaritan’s Purse that candy and toothpaste cannot be
included in Shoe Boxes this year.
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world.
Our local ministry partners distribute your shoeboxes to children in their communities and then are able to establish long-term,
caring relationships with children and families by sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Each year, members of the church pack
shoeboxes. These shoeboxes are just an average-size cardboard or plastic shoebox packed for a girl or boy in one of three age
categories, 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. The box contains a quality "wow" toy such as a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal.
Then other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies are added. Some also include a personal note and photo. For an online
donation of $9 you can receive a tracking label to follow your box and discover the destination of the shoebox gift. The boxes
are then taken to Baltimore, one of the 4,000 Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child gift shoebox processing centers, and
more volunteers help process shoeboxes for eventual distribution throughout the world. For photos from last year click here.
